Computer Vulnerability

Dear Valued Customer,

As you may have already heard or seen on news reports, security researchers have identified a major security vulnerability that affects just about every personal computer, laptop, smart phone and tablet. This vulnerability could allow hackers access to your data that was previously thought to be secure - for example, passwords and other non-public personal information stored on your computers and phones. The good news is that every major software company has been pushing out updates to fix this vulnerability.

Please make sure that you allow your computers and phones to automatically install software updates and patches as they are released. These will likely be modified as companies craft the best work arounds, so it's not likely that this will be a one-time update or patch. Therefore, update early and often!

As always, please make sure your anti-virus software is up to date and never click on links and attachments contained within emails from untrusted sources.
As a reminder, North Country Savings Bank will never ask for your passwords, account numbers, PINs, social security numbers, date of births, or any other non-public personal information via email. If you ever receive an email or unsolicited phone calls requesting this type of information, DO NOT provide it and contact your relationship manager immediately at (888) 737-4795.

If you should have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us here at North Country Savings Bank.

Sincerely,
Robert Polniak
