Marcy DuBrey Helping Lead North Country Savings Bank’s Growth in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH — As North Country Savings Bank continues expanding its presence in Plattsburgh, one of the newest faces helping welcome customers into the newly renovated full-service branch is Relationship Banker Marcy DuBrey.

For DuBrey, the opportunity at NCSB represented both a career change and a chance to help build something new in the community she already knows well.

“I am motivated to make a name for NCSB in Plattsburgh and I am very excited to be chosen to open this branch,” DuBrey said. “The fact that I feel valued here motivates me the most.”

DuBrey grew up in Chazy Lake, where she still lives today with her two daughters. Much of her time outside of work revolves around family and sports, whether that means kayaking on the lake or spending weekends at volleyball games and softball fields. Before joining North Country Savings Bank in December 2025, DuBrey worked for six years at Federal Correctional Institution Ray Brook. Though banking marked a career shift, it was also somewhat of a return to familiar territory.

“Many years ago while I was in college I worked at a bank and when I decided to switch careers I thought back on jobs I enjoyed doing,” she said. “That’s when I decided to go back to the banking world.”

While the industry has changed significantly since her earlier experience, DuBrey says the transition has exceeded expectations.

“It was a lot different than what I was used to banking years ago,” she said. “Most of everything has changed, however it is still something that I enjoy. It has been better than expected.”

One thing that stood out immediately to her was the culture at North Country Savings Bank.

“The bank’s culture — how everyone here is happy and willing to help you succeed in any way that they can help,” she said.

As the Plattsburgh branch continues growing, DuBrey says she’s excited not only about the services now available locally, but also about bringing what the bank calls “The North Country Way” to the region.

“Plattsburgh is full of historical places and beautiful scenery,” she said. “I am most excited about bringing the North Country Way to Plattsburgh and welcoming all the residents of Plattsburgh and the surrounding areas, including students from SUNY Plattsburgh and Clinton Community College.”

Customers visiting the branch can expect a personal approach centered around conversation and relationship-building.

“Customers can expect to find me upbeat and smiling,” DuBrey said. “I enjoy small talk and building relationships with our customers. Whether it is a story they want to tell me about their day or something to do with banking, I will always listen and do my best to help correct any issues they have.”

The expansion to a full-service branch means customers in the Plattsburgh area can now access personal banking, checking and savings accounts, CDs, mortgage support, and in-person customer service locally without needing to travel outside the region.

“The new branch is very welcoming. It doesn’t necessarily feel like walking into a bank,” DuBrey said.

North Country Savings Bank officials say the expansion reflects the organization’s continued investment in the Plattsburgh market and its focus on community-centered banking relationships. The branch serves customers throughout Plattsburgh, Clinton County, and the surrounding Champlain Valley region.
